How much content is enough?
By Paul | June 15, 2008
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I love to write content and lately I have not been adding much to this site and must apologize to my readers. This site is not a primary money maker but more of a networking tool and really I do not have much desire to get deeply involved with the “Make Money Niche” I just share things that I do and keep people updated on some things that are coming down the pipe.
One thing that has happened is that I have a tremendous amount of content on the web. Most of it highly niche targeted and the rewards are awesome. Sometimes though I just do not have the energy to keep delivering new pieces of content on a daily basis and it carries over for weeks and month on end!!
One thing that happens though when you get to the level of traffic I am getting in my “niches” is the income still comes in regularly like clock work so the need to provide more content becomes secondary to other activities online, like networking.
Both activities provide for an opportunities to generate income and to expand your portfolio. However it is the content that has been published that opens up these networking opportunities or even shuts doors at times.
So if you ever feel like giving up remember this. Provide value added content on a regular basis without the money being the primary objective and it will flow. Just be open to networking opportunities and become a giver too!!

User Generated Content - I love it..
By Paul | May 17, 2008
I love doing things differently and using User Generated Content Sites to move a marketing message is high leverage if done effectively. I use several different UCG sites for different purposes.
Affiliate Marketing, Selling Cars, Branding - Personal and Business and Reaching out to families of children with a cleft lip and palate.
I do have one page that has caused me some mild amusement today. I have a Squidoo lens that I list used Nissan Inventory on and it ranks well for a competitive car dealers name. Some unintentional optimization. Search for Golden Isles Nissan in the G and you will know what I mean.
The General Manager for Golden Isles Nissan did take the time to complain about it to my current employer but it fell on deft ears. ![]()

Why oh why?
By Paul | April 27, 2008
I love participating in online communities and even have a few that I cherish immensely. I just hate it when people turn all caustic though and try to take unfounded jabs at people. I usually retaliate pretty fast to these types of interactions and strike back with such force that they never realize what is coming until it is to late and unrecoverable.
I am very good at what I do SEO wise. I really do not have the patience for teaching other people how to do things unless they have some basic aptitude that is why I like doing my own thing so well. This coupled with the fact that I am working as an Internet Sales Manager now it does not give me time to help a hapless newbie. Nor does it give me the patience to try to explain things to people who are so convinced they are right that no amount of explanation will help. I just wont let them get the last word in though which seems to be a character flaw of mine.
Oh well just don’t tell me how proud of your keywords you are and be a jack ass about it you are subject to lose them!!

Developing a Niche inside of a Niche
By Paul | April 27, 2008
Marketing products and services online can be a very rewarding proposition if you can accurately target your customer. Many times people get confused on exactly who is the most profitable customer to attract. I am actively working as an Internet Sales Manager in the automotive industry in addition to my other online marketing activities and the automotive niche marketers really have it all wrong in my opinion.
The money that drives the automotive industry is from consumer who purchase cars from dealers. Bottom line all other aspects of the automotive niche rely on this transaction to drive all other aspects of the industry. If it were not for the main distribution channel of automobiles no other aspect of the auto industry could survive, however there are many sub niches inside of this large niche. From parts and service to transportation and fuel.
There are so many different sub niches that can be targeted inside of the auto industry it is unfathomable to attempt to cover them all. One thing I have noticed is that many of the online niche marketers in this segment are trying to cover every aspect of it and at the same time not doing really one segment of it well. That is taking advantage of the long tail but at what expense to the driving force of the industry?
Most of the automotive niche marketing is done at the expense of the dealers who fuel that economy. Amazing and profitable, but really why try to take away from your bread and butter?

Network Marketing Bottom Feeders - The PayPerPlay Network pushing NetAudioAds
By Paul | April 4, 2008
At Adam Kalsey’s blog he talks about the MLM bottom feeders that the PayPerPlay Network is attracting and there were many rebuttals to this statement and many people took offense to this comment, even though NetAudioAds was originally launched in a Network Marketing Scheme. In a recent post at the PayPerPlay forum one of the most active forum participants that goes by the handle PPP Blogger made the following post at the PayPerPlay Forum:
(Right Click on Image and Click View Image to see all of the post)
What this is doing is reinforcing the quality of “core partners” that this program has attracted. While I am sure that they have attracted some webmasters that are already making money with their websites before the noise being added they are still emphasizing that recruitment is the main money making component of the PayPerPlay program.
Any affiliate program that concentrates on recruiting versus active sales is a Pyramid Scheme even if it does not cost anything to join. All these people are doing is adding more subscribers to other peoples marketing list and it is doubtful that they will ever see a dime from this program. If the history of the front man for Netaudioads repeats itself….

Whose Brand are You Building?
By Paul | April 4, 2008
As an internet marketer I feel that it is critical to build YOUR BRAND and not the brands of others. While it is apparent if you are going to market products and offers via SEO sometime content has to be geared towards the product you are marketing leaving you out of the equation or does it?
Having reentered the “workforce” as an Internet Sales Manger for Carl Gregory in Brunswick I have started creating multiple levels of content geared to generate leads to sell cars using “bum marketing” techniques. The nice thing about using this method it allows me to not only build a search engine presense for the products we sell at the dealership it also allows me to have a personal branding message to the prospects that find this content. Selling high ticket items such as cars does require a level of personal interaction that is not experienced in a true online marketing environment.
Each piece of content generated has a call to action for people to contact me directly to purchase their next vehicle. While some of the content generated may directly attempt to brand the store it always contains a way for people to get in contact with me while at the same time building search engine reputation management for myself and the dealership in the process. Also this content is transportable if I find myself in another situation or wish to turn some of the content into affiliate marketing pieces at a later time or use strictly for SEO purposes.
Some of the tools I am using to build my brand also have a level of monetization tied into them that add to the many streams of online income that I dearly love. This is taking online marketing to a level that many ignore and others do not want you to know about. The process is easy for me and in the near future I will be releasing a subscriber based manual on how to use these techniques to build your brand.

Some Niches Deserve Exploiting
By Paul | March 2, 2008
Due to some unforeseen reasons I had to take a “real job” again to help with the rising cost of my families health insurance. The premiums tripled!! I was able to go back to an old position of mine as an Internet Sales Manager at an automobile dealership. Having been a fulltime internet marketer for quites sometime it was a natural fit for me.
I have been empowered to make all decisions in relationship to the the dealerships online marketing efforts and discovered some amazing things. Large niches such as the car business really do not get online marketing at all. From the manufactures to the dealers to the vendors that service them it is comical.
I started looking at some Automotive Microsite Vendors to fill the void in lead volume and came to the conclusion that the automobile industry is about 10 years behind the times as far as acceptable standards and am now looking at developing a niche inside of the niche. Teaching car dealers to take responsibility for their own, online destiny. This one will be fun to watch and may let me afford $3000 a month health premiums. ![]()

NetAudioAds - Voice2Page - not living upto their Promises
By Paul | January 16, 2008
I have been contacted today by several affiliates who claim that they still have not received refunds from Voice2Page - NetAudioAds. This is despite several goodwill letters sent to the previous affiliate base.
Some of these affiliates are owed a substantial sum of money based on the promises sent out by Larry Host. The affiliates, that were under me in the old program, have received refunds as well as others that have said they have been in communication with me. However several other are still owed money.
These affiliates that have not been refunded are scared to come forward publicly for fear the Mr Host will not perform as promised. I know from the demeanor he has displayed towards me, that many people would rather not interact with him, including people “inside” of Voice2Page.
The shams continue can’t wait to see the CPM affiliates are going to be paid for annoying surfers…….

Voice2Page Is Their New Move Really the Right Thing?
By Paul | December 26, 2007
I have recently received communication from Voice2Page - NetAudioAds that they are trying to revive their old affiliate program. This was partially based on external pressures. In a previous post I mentioned that they had announced refunds to former affiliates. I personally have received a refund from them. I think it was in an effort to grease a squeaky wheel. There are other affiliates I know that still have not received refunds.
The new announcement from them will be that the old affiliates will be allowed to promote Voice2Page and NetAudioAds and will still receive credit for ad plays based on former “downlines” of users. The biggest problem I see is Voice2Page has in the past not paid their affiliates nor did they give the people who helped build their user base the first opportunity to promote the product. Instead they allowed PayPerPlay the opportunity to promote NetAudioAds when the original affiliate program’s biggest selling point was NetAudioAds.
The adserving platform they are using is Java Based and the current users in those old downlines are using a HTML player. So in essence they are offering something that really has no ability to be profitable for the old affiliates. In my opinion they are trying to dangle a carrot to silence people like me that have been outspoken on the launch of PayPerPlay.
Not only is this a slap in the face to the former affiliates it should warn others to really examine the claims made by Voice2Page before getting involved with the PayPerPlay opportunity. The launch should have been made through the original affiliate base not through another marketing company.
Would you trust a company behind an affiliate program that:
- Did not pay affiliates for their activities?
- Resorts to threats when you question their claims?
- Tries to cut out people that helped build their user base?
- Does not give those individual that opportunity to help launch something they were pitched in the past?
Think about those questions before you embrace the new announcement if you are an original affiliate or if you are doing due diligence on the PayPerPlay opportunity.

Hot Products In Affiliate Marketing and Christmas Time Affiliate Marketing
By Paul | December 25, 2007
Every year at Christmas we see a product selling for a premium on sites like Ebay.com. If I recall correctly the first time we saw this phenomenon was with the Tickle Me Elmo doll and every year since there has been similar fad style product. This year had many different one but one of the ones I say selling at the highest premium was the new Amazon Kindle with bids at Ebay.Com topping $1500 and Buy it Now Quotes still over $1000 on Christmas Day.
The Kindle or products of its nature will eventually replace printed Media a we know it. It looks to be an interesting product. But with anything I do not follow the crowd. I more of the bread and butter market. The type of buyer that waits for things to be established before buying it. I guess I am that way because I bought a Digital Audio Tape device that was introduced about the same times CD’s were. It never gained any traction. Since then I have always waited for products to become established before buying them. Just like the old Beta Max buyers are now.
Next Holiday Season I will have the site infrastructure in place to take advantage of the Christmas Feeding Frenzy on that next hot gotta have it product. Which leads me to Affiliate Programs.
One of the new hot you better get in now affiliate programs appears to be Pay Per Play. Basd on the past that Voice2Page has had in running an affiliate program this one is a big pass in my book. I have been fairly outspoken about this one and have had people resort to all kinds of techniques to try to silence or discredit proven claims. It is laughable but this one will go down in the books like AGLOCO, a program that may never pay off. Many already know that Voice2Page never paid their affiliates in their original program.
The sad thing is they are claiming that this is an Adsense replacement and having people buy into this. The real problem is this type of advertising platform has already been tried and failed and NetAudioAds seems to think they can make it viable. Being a natural skeptic and very analytical, I have asked for documentation of their claims and met with strong resistance. That alone should make it a pass for anyone doing due diligence. Ask them to document their claims and do not settle for smoke and mirror answers of Non Disclosure Agreements.
Ok enough ranting for now. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and is looking forwards to a prosperous New Year.
